Ric Staines, author, journalist and local radio gardening presenter, is available to give you a Master Class that will help you get the best from your garden.

This unique service is aimed at giving you the skills, confidence and ability to realise the potential of your very own patch of paradise. Ric will visit you in your garden and pass on knowledge and skills to enable you to enhance your garden be it advice on the layout, the choice and maintenance of trees and shrubs, the lawn, vegetables or fruit, how to manage the garden for wildlife etc.

When Ric visits you he can provide general advice on any aspect of the garden and identify ways of improving what you do. While he is there why not get him to show you ³How to do all those jobs you are not sure about.

This could be anything from pruning to seed sowing, and it will all be done using you own tools and equipment in your own familiar surroundings making it much easier for you to gain the confidence for the future. These Master Classes can be personal or bring your friends to share the cost.

Ric Staines, H.N.D., Cert Ed., has been a professional horticulturist all his working life. It has included time at leading tree & shrub nurseries, growing salads and other vegetables on his own holding when he helped set up local and national marketing co-ops selling to all major UK supermarkets.

More recently he spent a number of years passing on his skills and knowledge to numerous students (of all ages) as a lecturer. During this time he developed courses in organic gardening, heritage gardening and he established the first ever course in Holistic Gardening incorporating sustainable and co-creative gardening, Permaculture and Bio-dynamics. Most secently he worked a a consultant helping the BBC set up local community based gardening groups. He has written a book on Market Gardening, a regular gardening column and has for the last 16 years been the gardening expert on BBC Radio Suffolk.
